About
Who does this, what they do not do, and how working together goes.
Who
I build things people then actually operate.
I am Jerzy Pilch, and I design and build sites and applications — from the first conversation to a working system a business runs on every day.
I am not an agency. You work with me directly: the same person draws the interface, writes the code, and picks up the phone when something breaks.
What I do
Whole deliveries: a site or an application, the design, the copy, the deployment and the hosting. Sometimes only one of those — a visual identity with no site, or rewriting something that already exists and runs too slowly.
Most often these are internal systems. Things that do not look spectacular in a portfolio, but that replace a notebook, an email inbox and two people's memory.
How it goes
We start with a conversation about what should change in the work, not about which technology we will use. Then you get a scope and a date. I work in small pieces, so you see progress before everything is finished.
When it has to be fast, it is fast: one project in this portfolio existed within twenty-four hours, visual identity included.
What I don't
I do not take work where I am to add to someone else's code without being allowed to fix it. I do not promise dates I do not believe in. And I do not leave a project undocumented — if we stop working together, somebody else has to be able to pick it up.
